NACSW is the only official sanctioning and organizing body for the sport of K9 Nose Work.

Certified Nose Work Instructor Program

NACSW™ has a program designed to certify K9 Nose Work® instructors. The certification course is designed to teach the philosophy, concepts, and methodology that define this activity and sport. Graduates of this course will have demonstrated the ability to apply their expertise to teaching K9 Nose Work® classes through the competition level.

The certification course consists of three strands:

Classroom coursework taught by one or more of the founders

Application of key concepts by leading practice groups and classes

On-going training of a dog in K9 Nose Work through the advanced level.

Emphasis in the program will be placed on creating a positive experience for both dogs and handlers.

Certification provides several key benefits. Instruction by top-level professionals will give you in-depth knowledge to help your students learn this sport successfully. As an instructor candidate and as a graduate Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI)™, you will have access to on-going support regarding instructional practices and troubleshooting. Most importantly, your CNWI™ Certification will identify you as a professional skilled in teaching K9 Nose Work® as developed by the founders of the sport.
